MIX MAGAZINE by Helen Davies

This week BOHD are closely following the couture runway collections launched by the leaders of fashion design and following Mix Magazine by Global Colour Research (a fantastic company that predicts future trends in colour and products) to forecast future trends. BOHD thinks it is very important to keep a close eye on what is happening in other industries and the effects this will create on interiors and perhaps vise versa. Today Wallpaper magazine tweeted ‘Mr Armani thinks pink, shocking pink even’. The colour was projected on to the runway rooms’ walls in Paris. We at BOHD expect this colour will be trending even bigger in the next few months.

INFANT SCHOOL PROJECT by Helen Davies

BOHD are pleased to be working on a voluntary community Infant School Project after being asked by the head to submit a design proposal for an outdoor stage area. BOHD are extremely honoured to be asked to work on such an interesting project which will help with the children’s learning, imagination and role play…..we are thinking of calling the project ‘All The Worlds a Stage’ Shakespeare.

INSPIRING THE FUTURE by Helen Davies

BOHD have just signed up for Inspiring the Future Campaign. We feel a valuable scheme supporting children to have confidence and knowledge to follow their career dreams or even help them support choices of learning in areas of interest.

MARIE CLAIRE @ WORK LIVE by Helen Davies

An early start for the BOHD team to catch the train from Southampton to London Piccadilly to attend the Marie Claire at work Live event.

On arrival at BAFTA at 9.30am on a Saturday morning we were warmly welcomed with coffee and pastries and a chance to look at the new A/W15 Karen Millan collection. We at BOHD obviously enjoyed a bit of retail therapy while sipping coffee making a note of what’s hot and what’s not on the office wear list. We like to keep up with our trends….

The day kicked off with a key-note session hosted by Editor of Marie Claire Trish Halpin and a question time with a panel that included Claudia Winkleman, true to from a very interesting and witty lady. The session discussed technology, is it a friend or foe. With interesting points on when and when not to use in the workplace.

The second lecture BOHD attended was How to Grow your business from A-B with key speakers such as Sarah Curran (Very Exclusive), Divinia Knowles (Mind Candy and Claire Hopkins ( Balance Me). This was followed by a lovely lunch and complimentary manicure. We were feeling suitably well fed and pampered by the time we walk in to the next session. Melanie Nicholas, MD of The Lighthouse Company, hosted this session. It was an extremely interesting talk on CV’s in a Social World, we all took away valuable tips on how to update our Linked In profiles (some of us still yet to do).

The day drew to a close with a speech by Miriam Gonzilez Durantez, here she spoke about campaigning on behalf of Inspiring the Future. It was an inspirational, funny, interesting speech and I’m pleased to say we have signed up to give our time up to go into a state school in Hampshire to talk to children about our own personal experiences and career paths taken to be in the jobs we are doing now and have done in the past.

After feeling extremely motivated by the day we were wished fare well with a lovely glass of bubbly and a chance to talk to others there at the day and given a wonderful goodie bag each.

WINCHESTER KITCHENS by Helen Davies

Helen at BOHD went to meet Diane and her designers at Winchester kitchens to introduce them to BOHD’s unique handmade splash backs and wall coverings. Helen said she had a great appointment and conversation with Diane and it was wonderful to be shown around their beautiful showroom. Pleased to say that Winchester Kitchen’s are happy to be showcasing BOHD's glass samples for clients to view.

Diane has since written to say,

“ Winchester Kitchens and Interiors are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase some samples of this stunning glass. This is perfect for our clients who are looking for something individual, a statement piece that will add a focal point in their kitchen”
